I've always enjoyed the changing of the seasons. There is something refreshing about a new beginning. As summer comes to an end and fall begins to approach, our routines begin to change. Schools are back in session, activities fill the calendar, vacations come to an end, and life starts moving a little faster again.

Every year I tell myself, "This year I'll stay ahead of everything." Yet somehow the calendar fills up quicker than I expected. Before long, I'm trying to balance work, family, church, meetings, and all the little things that come with everyday life.

I've learned that when life gets busy, that's when I need God the most—not the least.

It's easy to begin each day by looking at our calendar or checking our phones. But I've found that the days seem to go a little smoother when I start with prayer, spend a few quiet moments reading Scripture, or simply thank God for another day before everything else begins.

Putting God first doesn't mean life suddenly becomes easy. There are still deadlines, challenges, unexpected changes, and difficult decisions. But it does change how we walk through those moments. Instead of carrying everything on our own, we remember that God is walking beside us.

As I watch another school year begin, I'm reminded that every season of life is an opportunity for a fresh start. Whether you're sending children back to school, beginning a new job, adjusting to an empty nest, or simply stepping into another busy season, God is already there waiting to guide your steps.

My prayer is that all of us—not just at the beginning of a school year, but every day—will choose to put God first. The laundry can wait a few more minutes. The emails will still be there. The to-do list may never be finished. But time spent with God is never wasted.

As a church family, let's encourage one another to keep Christ at the center of everything we do. When we begin each day with Him, we can face whatever comes with greater peace, confidence, and hope.

As we step into this new season together, may we remember that the best way to begin is with God first. He has gone before us, walks beside us, and will faithfully guide us through whatever this season brings.
