As parents, grandparents, and members of a church family, we all hope the children in our lives will grow to know and love the Lord. While we can't make their decisions for them, we can help build a foundation of faith that will guide them throughout their lives.

When my children were young, I didn't always wonder if I was doing enough. Like most parents, I was simply trying to do my best each day. We prayed before meals, prayed together at bedtime, made church a priority, and tried to live out our faith at home. At the time, those moments seemed small and ordinary.

Looking back now, I realize those simple moments mattered more than I ever imagined.

Today, even though my older children are starting to build their careers, and responsibilities of their own, they still reach out asking for prayer when life becomes difficult. They also share with us when God answers those prayers. It reminds me that the seeds of faith planted years ago continue to grow.

Building a strong faith doesn't require having all the answers. Children learn as much from what they see as from what they hear. They notice when we pray, when we trust God during difficult times, when we show kindness to others, and when we make worship and church a priority.

As a church family, we also have the privilege of helping raise the next generation. Through Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Youth Group, children's messages, and simply taking time to encourage a young person, each of us can make a lasting impact.

Children need to know that church is more than a place they attend—it is a family that loves them, prays for them, and walks alongside them as they grow.

The little moments matter.

A bedtime prayer.
A Bible story.
A hug from a Sunday School teacher.
A kind word from a church member.
Singing together in worship.
Serving others as a family.

Those moments may seem ordinary today, but they are building a faith that can last a lifetime.

"Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it."

May we continue planting seeds of faith in the lives of our children, trusting that God will nurture them and help them grow for years to come.
