Something new is taking shape inside Muncie Baptist Church!

As you walk into the Fellowship Hall, you will notice some changes happening as we begin creating our new Welcome Center.

It's not all together yet! Several pieces we're planning for the space are still on the way, and we have a few finishing touches yet to come. So, if you walk by and wondered, “Is that finished?” — the answer is not quite!  Like most projects, it's coming together a little at a time, and we're excited to see the finished space take shape.

The Welcome Center will be a place where visitors can receive a Welcome Bag, find information about Muncie Baptist Church, and learn about ways to get connected. It will also be a place for our church family to gather for coffee, donuts, conversation, and fellowship.

But as we've worked on this space, I've realized something:

A Welcome Center isn't really about the space. It's about the people.

We can add the signs, decorate the area, have information available, prepare Welcome Bags, and make the coffee—but none of those things can make someone feel welcome quite like another person can.

Romans 15:7 reminds us:

“Welcome one another, therefore, just as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.”

So, please be patient with us as our new Welcome Center continues to come together. There are still a few more things to come!

In the meantime, we don't have to wait until everything is finished to put its purpose into practice. Whether someone has been part of Muncie Baptist Church for 50 years or it's their very first Sunday, our hope is that the Fellowship Hall will be a place to grab a cup of coffee and of course a donut, share a conversation, make a connection, and feel at home.  Because in the end, the best part of our Welcome Center won't be anything we put on the wall or place on a table. It will be the people gathered around it.  Although, let's be honest... the donuts on the table might be a pretty close second!

We look forward to seeing this space come together—and, more importantly, seeing the conversations, connections, and fellowship that will happen around it.
